East West All-Star Classic Weekend
Posted on 06 December 2011 by Admin.
The East West All-Star Classic Weekend over Thanksgiving weekend was a great success. The Weekend included over 220 middle school football players from all over the Commonwealth and included a combine and banquet in the Frankfort Convention Center. Guest speakers included master of ceremonies and broadcaster Steve Tressler, Coach William Leach, former UK standout and NFL alumni/NFLPA UK Chapter President Marty Moore (Patriots) and former wider receiver from the Philadephia Eagles, Je’Mone Smith. The Weekend also included the Kentucky 7th and 8th Grade Teams beating the Illinois 7th and 8th Grade Teams on Saturday, followed by the 7th and 8th Grade East vs. West games on Sunday at Kentucky State University.
A special thanks to KSU for use of the Alumni Stadium, the Frankfort Convention Center, Capital Plaza Hotel and all of the countless volunteers who contributed their time and talent to make this weekend a special event in the lives of these fine young men and their families.
